AI wrote your copy and it shows

I can usually tell within two sentences, and it is not for the reason people assume.
It is not that the writing is bad. Generated copy is competent. Grammar is fine, structure is fine, it is on topic. That is exactly the problem.
Here is the tell. It is all at the same altitude.
Real writing about a real business moves between levels. It says something general, then drops to a specific that could only come from having been there. The van that would not start on the Tuesday of the storm. The customer who calls every spring about the same drain. The fact that in this county the permit threshold is thirty six inches and everybody gets it wrong.
Generated copy never drops. It stays at the level of "we pride ourselves on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction" for six paragraphs, because it does not have any specifics, because it was not there.
The second tell is the vocabulary. Certain words cluster. Elevate. Seamless. Unlock. Nestled. Whether you are a homeowner or a business owner, we have you covered. Once you notice them you cannot stop noticing them, and neither can your customers, and increasingly neither can search engines.
I use these tools daily. They are useful. They are excellent at structure, outlines, second drafts, and turning a rambling voice memo into paragraphs.
What they cannot do is know your business. So the workflow that produces good pages is not "generate copy." It is: talk for ten minutes about the last five jobs, specifics included, then use the tool to shape that into prose, then go back through and put the specifics that got smoothed away back in.
The specifics are the whole product. Everything else is filler with good grammar.
